The new model of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was developed under the Transformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine programme in cooperation with the Kyiv Mohyla Business School and with the support of the Government of Canada.
The model, based on a multi-domain approach, focuses on both the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine needed to win a war against Russia, restore Ukraine's territorial integrity and provide an integrated deterrent to Russia after the war is won, and the capabilities required to play new roles in maintaining regional and global security together with key partners.
The advantages of this approach include multiple enhancements of combat capability with limited resources, multiplication of effects across domains and dimensions of warfare, building up pre-threshold warfare capabilities to prevent new aggression in the future, and creating the basis for NATO membership.
